Music at Mottram

April 12th, 2018 | Posted by Mick Shaw in Uncategorized

We have had a great start to 2018  at Music at Mottram , with two brilliant, if very different, gigs.

Holy Moly and the Crackers were a ball of energy, enthusiasm and very nearly lifted the roof off the hall, whilst Martin Simpson held the audience transfixed with his astonishing guitar and banjo virtuosity. Either way, what better way to spend a Saturday night.

Both acts brought some of their own followers so a lot of people visiting  M@M for the first time. The feedback was that all  enjoyed their Mottram experience and we hope to see them back again very soon.To our regulars, and there are a growing number,we say thanks, keep the faith, and keep coming…

Which leads me to our next night of music when,on April 21st, legendary North East singer, guitarist and raconteur Billy Mitchell will be making a return visit to Mottram St Andrew.Drawing on a deep musical heritage that encompasses Lindisfarne,
Jack the Lad, the Billy Mitchell Band and, most recently, the Pitmen Poets, plus his wonderful solo album The Devils Ground, you are promised a stunning night of song, laughter and pathos.

Even if you are not a massive folk music fan, Billy is a great singer and entertainer who appeals to a broader audience , and this is a night for anyone who  enjoys live music to come and see what we are doing .

Tickets are a steal at only £10.00    . Doors open at 7.15 for our usual 8pm start.  Tickets are available via our website at    Please book early and we look forward to seeing you on 21st.
